Earlier this week, our team embarked on a journey to transform the lives of young people through our Youth Skills Development Programme. Designed for ages 15-24, the program aims to equip participants with essential hard and soft skills, with expert-led modules running until August 2025.

Programme Overview and Structure
The program is tailored to address the unique needs of two groups—ages 15-18 and 19-24—ensuring targeted training that fosters both personal and professional growth. Our dedicated facilitators, skilled in technical areas, will lead the hard skills training, guiding young people to become work-ready with confidence.

Addressing Connectivity and Accessibility
One of the challenges identified was connectivity, especially for our Computer Basics module. We’re actively exploring solutions with Letaba Networks to enhance network capabilities. Additionally, due to transportation challenges, our recruitment process has faced some hurdles, but we are exploring school-based sessions to make the program more accessible.

Community Engagement and Support
Recently, our team visited community centers in Limpopo, where we were deeply inspired by the overwhelming interest shown by local youth. With over 50 eager participants at Mamvuka, it’s clear the program has already captured attention. We’ve developed recruitment strategies with local leaders, youth groups, and schools, emphasizing community collaboration to maximize our outreach.

Operational and Logistical Planning
To support this impactful initiative, we’ve formed an operations committee, meeting monthly to address logistics and ensure smooth delivery. We’re also developing a “Ways of Working” workshop to streamline communication between all parties involved.

Our mission is to empower youth through practical, accredited training that prepares them for the workforce, building pathways to opportunity in local communities. The dedication from our staff, facilitators, and community members reaffirms the potential impact we can create together.

Stay tuned for more updates as we bring this program to life!
